This Blog Is Specially Designed to Preserve Freshness. Shake Well for Best Taste.

My throat is sore. It started happening at around three this afternoon, and it's going to stop happening any minute now. I have lots to do this week, and there's no room for symptoms. Dinner tonight = Tropicana.

But that's not why I'm posting this fine evening. This post goes out to Friend Sue, because I am unable to post a comment on HER blog on account of I'm not a LiveJournal user, so I figure I'll just leave my comment here on Our House In Jersey and hope that she catches it if/when she checks in. Only ... I just realized that, between exiting Friend Sue's blog, remembering my blogger login password, pouring another mug of No Pulp OJ, and telling y'all about my sore throat, well, I've completely forgotten what my comment was going to be. It was along the lines of, "Thanks for mentioning me on your blog," or, "I had fun," only far more charming and witty. Oh, well.

You know what? This is exactly the sort of nonsense I should delete, and not post, and stop typing right now. But ... well, it's just easier to hit 'Publish Post' than to delete it all. Sorry.

I hope that by the time you have read this, you will have felt better. Love, Dad

P.S. Don't let the fact that I have peeked into this site inhibit you or Maria or anybody from writing what they want, including slang, just because Beth Ann's daddy might be looking.

P.P.S. Our president is driving me nuts, nuts, nutso. So is the reptilian Condi Rice.

I second the reptilian sentiment, if I didn't know better I would swear the world is being run by lizard people who are hell bent on warming and destroying the planet through us, burning fossil fuel's and killing anything else that lives upon it, until it's too hot, barren and sulfurous for us to live, so that not even the killer cat's and docile chicken of the friggin sea tuna's can harm there delicate outer-skin, then they can finally live happily ever after in a polluted desert...............

that could also explain all the deranged made up marketed names for products that are plaguing the senses, nowadays!

hay, nothing else in the world makes sense right now!

Hi, Dad! FYI, I think I can safely speak for our entire household when I say that (1) our language shall remain uninhibited and (2) the president is driving the four of us nuts, as well. (Items 1 & 2 may sometimes be related.) Now THERE's a man who ought to keep his slang (if not his foreign policy) in check.

Dad & everyone: If you haven't already been there, go to http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130010987332 and have a little chuckle over this poor guy's angst.

Liz ... I don't know how to use this blog site thingamabob. I left a message for you somewhere on it, about New Yorker captions and the Palm Beach Post, and I wanted to add as postscript, and I can't find the bit I wrote that I want to postscript.

If you try to google the Palm Beach Post, you won't readily find the ... what? the ... invitation? that I wanted you to see. But, after some fiddling, I came up with a good result by googling "Palm Beach post select plot". Or (let's see if this cut and paste works), go to: http://www.palmbeachpost.com/accent/content/accent/interactives/form_summernovel.html.

There you have it. Is that all clear?

Bob's your uncle.

Love,

The Old Man
