Well. Now I've been introduced to Laurie Anderson, and I thank you.

Laurie Anderson has perfect diction. She is cute. She has a perfect speaking voice. She has, shall we say, winning ways.

Where she goes wrong is with lima beans. I don't like `em. Never have. You can put them on community television school menus, and if anybody watched they would know to take a sandwich to school so that they wouldn't have to be confronted with lima beans. The only thing worse than lima beans - even if the lima beans are served with butter - is cold lima beans.

Of course, there will always be others who will have a different viewpoint. Probably. Though I think it should be unamimous that hot buttered limas are not as bad as cold, unbuttered limas.

I'd sure like to learn that when Laurie watches television (and surely she doesn't do much of that) she tries to avoid watching menus that include lima beans.

And another thought, while I'm at it. That governor ... I kind of liked him when he was in the senate, even with all the bad press about buying elections. But now I just heard that, after his discharge from the hospital or rehab place after his speeding accident, his car was clocked going way over the speed limit. So now I'm thinking about him and wondering what kind of guy he really is, and it hits me that his last name sounds like a brand of ointment.

Ointment!!!

Oh my lordy, that's it. I've been trying to put my finger on that for months.

No pun intended.

p.s. for the record, I would just like to share that my wonderful hubby Moray got me a signed copy of Laurie's new book after I rambled on to him for hours about that paper I wrote about her, Bjork, Meridith Monk and Tori Amos waaay back in college.

That, and I've always kinda liked lima beans. But you're right about the cold vs. warm thing...
