Our House In Jersey
The day-to-day antics of one said "House in Jersey", where 6 Jersey residents, including a married couple, a licensed flashdancing aesthetician, a recovering salvation army worker, and their two adorable, egomaniacal kittens live their happy lives: Hillarity ensues when kittens are fed crappy organic kitty-food. Oh-No! Who will win the battle for the Monkey-Ball trophy? Tune in to find out.

What is neat is that this adds another ethnic name to the roster. Wang, Mussina, Johnson and Pavano. And now Pettitte. Which I assume is some orthographically scrambled variant of French. Rosters of starting pitchers always seem interchangeable to me with the names of law firms and advertising agencies.
Spahn and Sain and pray for rain. From the days in which starters often finished a game.
There was a New Yorker article, many years ago, maybe by the guy, Roger (?) somebodyoranother____ (?) - the writer who was a friend or even a relative of E. B. White - that was all about names of baseball players. He was just fascinated with the names and their variety. Johnny Pesky. Chico Carresquel (sp.?). Minnie Minoso. Heine Menush (sp.?)
I used to like to listen to LSU night football games broadcast over WWL in New Orleans, a powerful station that reached Orlando at night. About 20% of LSU's roster were Thibideaux and Petites and Rameaus and Gagnes. It gave their games some flavor.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.
