While I'm doing my laundry, I thought I'd write ...

A little update on the goings-on of Our House in Jersey.

Aaron was feeling under the weather early in the week, but he seems to be much better now. His bout with the sniffles led to a dramatic reduction of Cher-infused karaoke performances in our living room. If Aaron's impromptu Cher-infused karaoke performances were charted on a line graph, the line would gradually but consistently incline over the past several years, reaching its peak a couple weeks ago when he purchased a Casio keyboard that features pre-recorded arrangements of pop songs. The line would then sharply decline in correlation with Aaron's cold. I'm sure -- I hope -- it'll rebound.

Moray has been bending over backwards (literally) in pursuit of his yoga certification, and his hard work has paid off. He graduated on Sunday, and I think I speak for everyone when I say that I'm very proud and excited for him, even if he does continually ignore our requests to lead a household class.

Maria, the freelance musician, finished up some kind of freelance music project last week. I can't really explain to you what she does, on account of I don't fully understand it. I know that she sits at her computer for long periods of time, and I know that her screen is full of staffs and notes and rests and ties and G-clefs and fortes and things and she moves them all around. She calls it "copy work," which makes it sound a lot like she's plagiarizing, but really she's transcribing or transposing or transvesting or something. Whatever it is, it looks very complicated and I'm glad that she's done for the time being so she can enjoy the holidays.

Basil & Olivia have, I suspect, been awarded grant money to fund a secret study intended to determine the maximum level of destruction that two cats can inflict on a house before the members of the household stop petting them and telling them how cute they are.

As for me, I've been learning about New Jersey and the English colonization of North America by means of holding a book called New Jersey and the English Colonization of North America in my lap while watching reruns of That '70s Show. I'm such a nerd. And I'll now further demonstrate my nerdliness by telling you that the reason I have not italicized the full-length titles in this blog entry is that I don't see any text formatting options on Blogger. Am I missing something?
